York Spiritualist Centre and it's community of supporters managed to raise £130.00, along with donations such as dog food, biscuits, blankets, toys and dog walking aids, for York Dog Rescue charities 'Team Poundie' and 'One Dog at a Time'.

The Spiritualist Centre held an evening of Mediumship and a raffle on 05 November 2016, which had strong support. Louise from York Spiritualist Centre presented all the donations to Ellie on the same evening.

Ellie said at this time of year more dogs become homeless in England as people abandon their dogs in favour of more popular breeds. I would like to thank everyone who helped in raising both awareness of the homeless situation for dogs, and giving generously, this will help a lot of dogs in their time of need. The supported charities rescue dogs from all over England, and Ellie is the contact person for in and around York.

Maureen, the York Spiritualist Centre President said: "I could see that Ellie was genuinely shocked at the size of the donations, we would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and support".

Maureen also looks forward to future community events, to raise support and funds for other charitable causes.

EDIT:

Ellie posted a Facebook thank you statement on Sunday, 6th November 2016:

"I am absolutely overcome by the kindness and generosity of everyone who made last night such a huge sucess. I absolutely guarantee that not only have you made some dogs lives better. .. you have actually saved some. rescues cannot take dogs in without the means to care for them this money provides almost 4 weeks kennel fees in some places and the extras will enable those dogs to be spolit a little or even be used as packs to set up foster homes to get dogs out of kennels. thank you so much from myself and the rescues xxxx"

    Thank you Maria,
Glad you felt welcomed, and that great evidence was provided.
The Saturday workshop now has two mediums, Sue Jex and Liz Dixon, they are brilliant.
Important: Contact Maureen on 07914-795537 to reserve a place.

Thank you for making me feel welcome, such nice people (but not weird!).
This was my first time at your centre, and I am certain that I will come again. I loved the fact that pets were allowed to mix with the audience.
The messages I received were accurate, now I'm thinking that there is more to this than guessing random facts, 100% correct cannot be guesswork on these specifics.
Keep it going, and see you again.
